Something old, something new 
Something borrowed, something blue

            Each item in the poem is a “good luck” item for the bride.  If she wears them all on her wedding day, she will live happily.  The “something old” represents continuity with the bride’s family and her past.  The “something new” symbolizes hope for her future and her new life as a married woman.  The “something borrowed” is supposed to be on loan from a happily married woman, whose good fortune will carry over to the new bride.  It can also remind the bride that she can count on the family member or friend who has loaned the item.

As for the colorful item, blue has been used to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity.  Not sure what “something blue” to wear on your wedding day?  Here’s a list of suggestions:

Bells & Whistles, isn't going to be like any bridal boutique you've visited.  There will be very few things for sale, that you won't be able to customize or re-design for yourself.  These aren't cheap do-it-yourself merchandise.  We are carrying the very best products you can buy.

 

We are carrying Artyce Footwear, a unique shoe company that allows you to design your own shoe.  Choose heels from 2" to 5", even a wedge, decide on a strap design, choose from 12 colors and then tell them how to decorate your shoe.  Prices range from $300 to $800.

 

We are also carrying our very own Artyce shoe, the Blush shoe that you will be able to purchase.

Let my tell you about my store.  Blush Wedding & Event Planning is opening a high-end wedding accessory boutique, Bells & Whistles at 330 W. Broadway, Waukesha, WI  53146.  It will feature one-of-a-kind and custom pieces for the particular bride.  Let me tell you about some of the wonderful merchandise that will be available.



Artyce Footwear

Blush will also be the proud distributor of Jewelry by Tava.  This amazing artist, from San Francisco, makes beautiful jewelry by re-purposing vintage pieces.  She has designed a unique line of one-of-a-kind necklaces and bracelets for Blush.  In addition, she will take vintage jewelry that you own, perhaps it belonged to your grandmother or great aunt, and make it into a custom piece for your wedding.

Blush is pleased to be able to carry bridal shawls by SELECTION PRIVEE PARIS the famous French Brand sold in the most famous Department Stores in Paris : LES GALERIES LAFAYETTES".  These beautiful silk shawls are embroidered, beaded and sequined for the ultimate luxurious look.
